Kenku were once a noble, corvid family of Aarakocra until they betrayed the loyalty of the Ming Dynasty nearly 500 years ago. When they did so, their patron God, Jin-Garasu, cursed the family to become the first Kenku. Legend says they were robbed of three things: first, their wings; second, their ability to speak with the exception of their mimicry; and third, their very creativity. Today, Kenku’s mimicry make them great actors, spies, and thieves, but a number of Kenku fight to prove their unfaltering loyalty in hopes of one day earning their wings that their backstabbing ancestors robbed of them.
